f I ruled d wrld is a print/publication project that involved running the lyrics of a popular song (If I Ruled the World, written in 1963 and covered in a Grammy-winning duet by Celine Dion and Tony Bennett in 2006) through a 2008 online algorithm that translated language into early mobile-phone condensed "text talk," and back. The song lyrics describe benevolent dictatorship. Colors and text area dimensions are drawn from the colors of various phone models in 2008, and their screen sizes.
